Hi,
Welcome to Grumpy Soccer
With over 20 years of coaching experience, a Canada Soccer National B Diploma, and certifications as a Learning Facilitator and Train the Trainer, I bring a deep commitment to the holistic development of athletes.
As a Safe Sport trained coach and mentor, I prioritize individual development plans and the well-being of every player. At the heart of my coaching philosophy is the belief that soccer is a vehicle for personal growth, resilience, and lifelong learning.
I strive to create an environment where players feel empowered, valued, and challenged—one that fosters curiosity, accountability, and a passion for improvement. My approach is rooted in empathy, open communication, and inclusivity, with a relentless focus on skill acquisition and long-term development. Whether on or off the field, my aim is to help athletes become the best versions of themselves—player first, player last.
My Story
I'm a lifelong athlete, coach, and curious learner with a deep passion for youth development. I’ve been coaching since I was a teenager and have played just about every sport I could growing up. Now, as the Technical Lead for South Shore United FC — and a parent to two young soccer players — I’m more committed than ever to supporting athletes on and off the field.

Over the years, I’ve run soccer clubs, mentored coaches, and worked closely with players of all levels. I believe in asking questions, challenging assumptions, and constantly evolving. Whether I’m reading, reflecting, or designing a new development plan, I’m driven by one question: Why?

Raised in Nova Scotia, this site is my way of reaching beyond the sidelines — to connect with others who care about the player pathway, the challenges youth face, and the opportunities we can create together.

Reach out, ask questions, let's keep the conversations going to create better environments for the players.
